Position Summary

Our client is rapidly ramping from prototype to low - volume manufacturing of its thermal energy storage systems for deployment at customer sites. This will be the first hire in a planned product reliability team that'll ensure high reliability in our client's thermal battery and plants at renewable energy projects across the US. You'll collaborate with engineering teams to scope, define, design, and implement their reliability tools. You will be a key technical member of a cross-functional and rapidly growing organization. Your work will directly contribute to the demonstration of a first of a kind long-duration energy storage technology.

In this role you will report to the head of product development and ensure the reliability of the designs and systems. You will work with your colleagues across mechanical, electrical, controls, test, and plant engineering to identify top focus areas for product reliability improvements. You will develop the processes which ensure reliability is designed into the products, and you will help develop the tools which enable those processes. In addition, the candidate will embody values, demonstrating teamwork, excellent communication, and excellence in engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering/science field, or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of experience in a hardware-focused reliability engineering position
• Strong process, tool and continuous improvement mindset
• Strong communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders

• Advanced degree(s) in Engineering 
• Technical expertise in Test, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Technical/Engineering Program Management Experience
• Experience ramping first production in a startup environment
• Experienced in statistical data analysis
