Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Senior Guidance, Navigation & Controls (GNC) Systems Engineer based in Irvine, CA location for a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services, and solutions to commercial and government customers.
 
You will join a collaborative team to develop innovative small satellite vehicle solutions for multiple projects.  The individual will be responsible for mission planning, requirements development, decomposition, and management, GNC hardware sizing and trade studies, developing and managing GNC budgets, technical evaluation and support for new business and proposal efforts.  It is expected that you will have an ability and desire to learn, grow, and discover continuously.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Participate in customer meetings and coordinate with Program Managers and Systems Engineering to define and refine GNC requirements
  • Contribute towards mission planning and CONOPs development
  • Develop and maintain GNC budgets
  • Develop tools and perform GNC hardware sizing and trade studies for new programs
  • Review and contribute technical content in support of new business and proposal efforts
  • Provide GNC subject matter expertise when required
  • The ability to travel as necessary
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Job Requirements

Requirements:
  • B.S or M.S. degree in Engineering with a concentration in Guidance, Navigation & Controls
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in GNC Systems Engineering
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work simultaneously on a variety of projects; possesses strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong writing, presentation, and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with spacecraft GNC hardware and software
  • Experience with 6DOF spacecraft simulations implemented in Matlab/Simulink
 
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Experience with AGI Systems Tool Kit
  • Experience with spacecraft rendezvous, proximity operations and docking missions
  • Active U.S. Government-issued security clearance

$140,000 - $160,000 per year depending upon experience
