Job Description

Our client has a great opportunity for a Senior Manager - Mechanical Engineering. This team is engaged in the research and development of cutting-edge satellite communication equipment & systems, engineering mechanical solutions to electronic packaging challenges at the chip level, board level, & enclosure level. Custom indoor and outdoor enclosure design for custom circuit boards is a major area of focus for the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Product design, implementation of advanced mechanical innovations, resource allocation, recruiting, and career development of team members
  • Design and analysis of toolsets used by the team, creating process improvements and auditing of project outcomes
  • Collaborate with ECAD Managers, EE Managers, in-house Manufacturing teams, and 3rd party suppliers in the design & development mechanical custom components
  • Drive the full product life cycle from Concept Industrial Design, Analysis, CAD Development, Prototyping, Testing, Production Release, and ongoing Production Support
  • Responsibly for the technical direction and mentoring of junior mechanical engineers

Job Requirements

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in the design of Telecommunications Electronic Packaging solutions
  • 3+ years' experience leading R&D Mechanical Engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • A well-spoken leader, with strong collaboration skills and desire to drive technology advancement in product design
  • Solid knowledge of 3D CAD Systems, as well as thermal and structural analysis tools is required
  • Working experience using CREO
  • Working Experience performing Thermal Analysis & Structural Analysis
  • Broad material design knowledge for high volume fabrication techniques a must (including plastics, die castings, extrusions, sheet metal, & elastomers)
  • Knowledge with environmental test standards MIL-STD-810 & DO-160
  • Technical awareness of UL safety standards, EMI/EMC standards, and design techniques to achieve compliance
  • Project lead & Project management experience

Salary: $145,000-$160,000
