QC Inspector II

Job Description
The Inspector II inspects products for compliance to MEC processes, procedures, and contractual obligations with at least a year's experience in inspection and an understanding of basic GD&T concepts.
- Perform program independent inspections, validations, and/or verification's of assigned items to ensure compliance to Marvin Engineering processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Perform independent inspections of assigned tasks (documentation reviews, hardware inspection, assembly inspection, tests validation, etc.) using blueprints, specifications, contractual documents, visual inspection methods, and more.
- Support QC areas as a QC inspector. Areas may include receiving inspection, assembly, machine shop, electrical, welding, testing, document Prescreen, and more.
- Perform inspections of simple GD&T hardware using a variety of hand and bench tools which may include: various micrometers, bore gauges, depth gauges, dial indicators, drop indicators, height gauges, etc. Tools may also include optical comparators, hardness checkers, profilometers, etc., as required.
- Understand and use basic GD&T concepts such as Straightness, Flatness, Circularity, Cylindricity, Perpendicularity, and Parallelism as applicable to the job.
- Level 2 inspectors who support QC areas which do not use the tools and/or GD&T concepts (noted above) are only required to have a basic familiarity with these tools and skills.
- May be asked to perform higher level inspections while under supervision.
- May need to interface with suppliers and/or customers.
- May be asked to perform lower-level inspection tasks or train level 1 inspector.
Job Requirements
- High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Three-year minimum experience as a QC inspector.
- Able to perform Quality Control Inspector Level 2 tasks.
- Must have a beginning level understanding of hardware blueprints (notes, features, views, tolerances, etc.) and a basic knowledge of specifications and contractual requirement obligations.
- Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the QMS Library, with specific competency on the following:
- Inspection Process Overview (WI-810)
- Control of Non-Conforming Material (WI-811)
- Able to speak, read, and write English well.
- Able to perform elementary math skills.
- Able to follow instructions and work independently.
- Able to work with others and be a team player.
- Able to perform basic computer tasks and have basic typing skills.
- Able to lift 40lbs.
- Note: Certifications in GD&T, Quality Inspection, relevant ASQ areas, or college degrees in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or other technical fields are a PLUS.
