Job Description

Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area is searching for an experienced Production Control Coordinator.
Perform clerical tasks that supports production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. 


  1. Coordinates with suppliers to prioritize delivery dates and materials expediting requirements
  2. Responsible for accurate status updates and tracking of materials through the manufacturing processes and steps 
  3. Maintains data accuracy by ensuring all transactions are completed correctly in SAP and making necessary corrections
  4. Assists production and warehouse with expediting and physical movements of the parts to the next internal and external work centers to meet the production schedule
  5. Assists Production Supervisors/Leads with ensuring that materials and tools for required job(s) are available and accessible
  6. Acts as primary liaison between the various stakeholders including program management in support of divisional goals
  7. Monitors monthly shipment plan progress
  8. Communicates and coordinates with vendors for open orders status
  9. Supports various production control functions and communicate with stakeholders to ensure operations continuity
  10. Supports the operations and quality departments with respect to inspection workload priorities
  11. Update and status various production and purchasing reports
  12. Supports with work orders or purchase orders processing  and closures
  13. Performs manufacturing and operations data collection and analysis as applicable
  14. Works with Document Control to ensure all drawings and documentation are current
  15. Works under close direction of senior personnel in the functional area, performs other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements


  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office based programs including Excel and Word
  3. Minimum of 1 year of relevant manufacturing work experience is required, 3 years highly preferred
  4. Solid written and verbal communication skills
  5. Prior knowledge of MRP systems (preferably SAP) is a plus
  6. Ability to work in an efficient and timely manner with the ability to multitask when needed
  7. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs

Hourly rate $25-$28 per hour depending on experience
