Job Description
Position Overview
The Process Automation Technician oversees monitoring variables in the stringer processes and making adjustments as necessary. Responsibilities include regularly reviewing the production schedule, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, maintaining an updated inventory of spare and wearable parts, setting reorder thresholds, and maximizing equipment uptime and string quality.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support production operations and ensure equipment process integrity.
- Analyze operating and quality data to adjust equipment/recipes for process optimization.
- Periodically check machine process parameters and recipes.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the manufacturing process to identify and address deviations or escalate issues to senior Engineering/Maintenance personnel.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment following operational guidelines.
- Document routine manufacturing processes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement to enhance machine availability, cycle time, utilization, and cost efficiency.
- Investigate root causes of equipment failures and quality defects to prevent recurrence.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve routine or minor technical problems.
- Provide technical solutions through process improvements, machine modifications, or material evaluations.
- Use qualitative data from material runs to adjust processes and maintain production quality and output.
- Troubleshoot production line anomalies and implement preventative measures to reduce recurrence.
- Train colleagues using a structured "Buddy," "Trainer," and "Certifier" system and update training manuals as required.
- Use initiative and judgment to resolve complex, nonstandard issues.
- Develop and communicate recommendations to minimize machine downtime and maintain quality standards.
- Participate in programs to improve productivity and output quality.
Qualifications

- High aptitude in mechanical, electrical, and electromagnetic disciplines.

Education and Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or pursuit of one) in a STEM or technical field (e.g., Microelectronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Electronics Engineering Technology).
- Technical training (e.g., Electronics, Mechanical) with at least six months of hands-on experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a fully/semi-automated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with PLC, HMI, electro-pneumatics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical wiring, vision systems, VFDs, and chemical processes.
Pay: $30 - $40/hr
