YOUR JOB

A Principal Electrical Engineer is responsible for any number of design, analysis, protype, and testing tasks.  You will contribute to all aspects of the full product lifecycle: from requirements development, through preliminary design, critical design, prototype, test, and production.  A Principal Electrical Engineer is works independently on their assignments, and is often asked to provide guidance to more junior-level engineers to help them complete their tasks as well. 

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) with challenging size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with development and debug of analog and digital electronics

  • Experience with GaN, SiC technologies, as well as in-space technologies is preferred.

  • Schematic capture and PCB design using Cadence or Altium

  • Circuit analysis including worst-case analysis, SPICE simulation, stress, and FMECA

  • PCB fabrication, parts procurement, and assembly management

  • Benchtop testing and debugging

  • Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vacuum, EMI/EMC)

  • Experience developing test equipment and test automation

  • Experience writing, developing, and maintaining effective documentation (drawings, build procedures, datasheets, etc.)

  • Collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineering team

  • Experience designing products for operation in space or radiation environments is preferred

  • Familiarity with radiation effects on electronics, EEE parts plans

  • Design for manufacture

  • Electrical test plan/procedure generation

  • Designing test equipment

  • Writing test programs and test scripts using Matlab, Simulink, C, and/or Python 

  • Experience designing products for operation in space or radiation environments


10+ years of experience either designing electronics, or test support equipment for electronics.  Industry experience in space, or other high-reliability/low SWaP application is preferred.

Salary range $140K-$150K DOE
