PCB Design Engineer
Irvine, CA 92618 US
Job Description
- Working in a team environment with electrical, mechanical and system engineers to develop optimal solutions to complex problems
- Ability to research circuit requirements from industry resources, best practices, evaluation circuits, and existing designs with flight heritage as a self-motivated design engineer
- Create fabrication and assembly data / drawings required for manufacture, assembly, and testing
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and application notes with a solid understanding of basic electronic theory
- Develop design rules based on project requirements
- Generation and maintenance of component footprint and database files
- Implement Design for Manufacturability, testing, assembly and other DFx requirements to ensure reliability and quality of products
- Work independently with minimal supervision performing design activities and research
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- 3 years or more of PCB design experience
- Expert level proficiency with Altium Designer
- High speed digital and RF experience
- Knowledge of advanced PCB layout design considerations including controlled impedance RF and high-speed signal routing, switching-regulator supply routing, minimization of conducted and radiated noise and thermal management techniques for high power circuits
- Ability to create high quality drawings of PCB designs using SolidWorks
- IPC CID (Certified Interconnect Designer Basic) Certification
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Must be able to convey technical information clearly and efficiently
- Proficient with Office tools (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)
- Per the requirement of certain facilities, applicant must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI Security Clearance and all special accesses required to work at such facilities.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience with the PCBA Assembly Process.
- Experience with machining and fabrication processes.
