O&M Solar Electrician
Job Description
The Solar O&M Electrician is responsible for performing tasks which include maintenance, installation, testing and troubleshooting related to solar equipment, its components and wiring.
Job Requirements
- Executes daily assigned tasks, including preventative and reactive maintenance on solar systems.
- Provides accurate and detailed daily reports of testing results, replacements, and case numbers.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots systems, and performs repairs (meeting or surpassing industry standards) on Inverters, Optimizers, Maximizers, TS4's or other vendor equipment.
- Commissions new solar systems.
- Removes and replaces faulty or obsolete components, performs retrofits.
- Ensures continuous and reliable operation of systems and their components.
- Provides technical services on PV systems.
- Makes recommendations regarding equipment using their knowledge of manufacturer equipment (considering historical repair records).
- Interfaces with clients on site walks.
- Makes tech calls to appropriate vendors to obtain case numbers for equipment replacements.
- Replaces and tests any warranty equipment provided by said vendors.
- Answers phone calls in the field for any adds, moves or changes, as directed by supervisor.
- Maintains proper care of all equipment, tools and vehicles.
- Uses all appropriate jobsite PPE and practices utmost safety for all, including equipment and buildings.
- Reports any problems with tools or equipment.
- Executes safe and proper use of power tools and ladders.
- Fixes problems with any said solar equipment and attendant electrical wiring.
- Ensures that all completed jobs are clear of potential hazards or warning signs.
- All other duties as required.
Education/ Training:
- High School graduate or equivalent, required. Associate's or higher degree in area of technical relevance, preferred.
- Knowledgeable in the proper use of multi-meters, crimp tools, and basic hand tools.
- C10 or journeyman license, preferred.
- Certification on major manufacturer inverters (such as Solar Edge, Chint Power, SolArk, Enphase, AE), preferred.
- Clean and current driver's license (with MVR check) in the applying State.
Experience:
- 3+ Years of direct solar experience, strongly preferred, involving troubleshooting and repair of solar systems.
Pay: $30 - $36/hr
