Job Description

Our Client is seeking a network administration to assist in designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining corporate networks. This position will require knowledge with configuring and securing multi-layer switches and firewalls, in addition to managing VPNs. The selected candidate must be able to respond, identify, and remediate any issues related to network availability or performance.

Key Responsibilities:
    Achieves in-depth knowledge of company processes, systems, and networks
    Monitors assigned systems to ensure high availability, optimum performance, and security
    Assists with the day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades
    Follows established IT policies and procedures to perform audits and ensure compliance
    Ensures data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
    Work with your leaders to prioritize projects, requests, changes, and tasks
    Document issues in Jira, communicate progress (though updates, workflow status, due date etc.) as the issue is being worked
    Understand and utilize change management when adding, modifying, or removing anything that could have an effect on IT services
    Proactively monitors assigned systems to ensure high availability, optimum performance, and security
    Assists in installation and configuration of information systems and components
    Assists in the design and implementation of information systems
    Responsible for documentation of assigned systems and solutions

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
    Willing to perform maintenance and support on systems outside of core hours (on-call) as required
    Willing to travel if required
    Strong organizational skills, quick learner, and demonstrated problem solver
    Able to apply knowledge to complex, practical situations
    Work well independently and as part of a team
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with a wide range of internal        and external customers
    Ability and desire to continue learning new skills as system needs grow and change
    Active CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570 IAT Level II         (or be able to obtain within a maximum of 30 days after hire)
    Knowledge of DoD Security Requirements within classified spaces
    10 years of experience in administering Linux environments to include CentOS, RHEL, Rocky, and              Ubuntu
    Server and desktop configuration and maintenance experience
    Ability to manage installation and maintenance of monthly security patches
    Experience with Active Directory/LDAP and Kerberos
    Understanding of information systems security best practices and use of security tools such as                    Nessus, SCAP, and applying STIGs
    Active TS/SCI with favorably adjudicated CI Poly
Preferred Qualifications:
    BS degree or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related computer field
    15+ years of IT specific experience (systems administration related)
    Automation using scripts, cron, or other methods (i.e., Ansible)
    Experience with containerized platforms (i.e., Kubernetes, OpenShift)
    Familiar with databases (i.e., Postgres, MySQL) and Linux web services (i.e., Apache)
    Experience with one or more of the following would be helpful:  Virtualization (VMware), backups (Rubrik), storage (Pure), administration of Atlassian products (Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket), MSSQL, audio/video systems, and monitoring
 

$110 - $120k annually DOE
