Job Description

Ideal candidate will have experience managing the operations for product line, including development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing method, scheduling the work of that department to meet production demands, developing manpower loading requirements, and developing recommendations for capital expenditures and annual budget requirements. 

Essential Functions:
 
Operations and Activities
  • Manages activities of employees
    • Processing all incoming sales orders from the Sales Department.
    • Processing all fabrication and assembly orders, quoting dates for delivery on all standard items.
    • Establishing and maintaining a Production Control schedule.
    • Expediting shortages, materials and sub-assemblies needed for production lines, ordering any materials necessary to cover shortages.
  • Processing customer returned material.
  • Plans and works with Director of Operations in establishing Production Control Procedures on new products.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of each work station.
  • Implements measures to improve work methods and working conditions.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
 
Organization of the Section
  • Recommends changes in the basic organizational structure.
  • Develops training and communication programs in cooperation with the Director of Operations for all department members.
  • Provides training for new workers, ensuring that departmental training form is given to Human Resources.
  • Establishes training needs for departmental employees; prepares Training Matrix which is kept in the Department, with a copy sent to Human Resources; and evaluates effectiveness of training received by employees.
  • Reviews performance and recommends rate adjustments on all employees in the section with changes subject to approval by the Director of Operations.
  • Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.
  • Administers all company and department policies covering discipline procedures, including the recommending of discharge for cause.
 
Finances of the Section
  • Works with Director of Operations in preparing Annual Budgets.
  • Assists Director of Operations in preparing capital expense requests.

Job Requirements

Requires:
Bachelors Degree and at least five years in Production Control, Inventory, Stock Room or related work in a manufacturing environment and at least five years of supervisory experience.

Primary goals are product quality, cost and delivery. 

Candidates MUST be Computer literate.  
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.  
Good written and oral communication skills.  
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to relate well to individuals at all levels of the organization.

$120K-$150K DOE
