Job Description
Our client is a Nationwide full turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions including Wireline, Wireless, Technology and Engineering.
They are seeking a Director of Operations in one of the following markets: Nashville, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Ohio, or Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing underground fiber and utility installation projects of varying sizes and scopes across the U.S. This role will directly manage field construction crews, Supervisors, and Project Managers, overseeing the planning, direction, and execution of day-to-day operations. A strong background in telecom, a commitment to safety, and a solid work ethic are essential.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct manager of Project Supervisors and Managers, construction crews, and subcontractors including, but not limited to, onboarding, training, discipline actions, terminations, payroll, performance management, etc.
- Manages the ordering of supplies, equipment, and materials for projects
- Manages their project financials; WIP, JCR, Cost to completes, etc.
- Creates and manages the project plans, schedules, objectives, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of the company's mission, values, and policies
- Adhere to and uphold the safety culture on site, led by example and develop the expected safety culture on each project
- Manages their divisions scorecard and ensures goals and actions are met
- Participates and presents in strategic planning meetings and internal I404 system- completed buy-in to the Keeley Way
- Creates agenda's and leads weekly staff meetings
- High level of leadership ability including, but not limited to, making challenging business decisions, gaining a people following, participating in, and driving the company culture, holding others accountable, and managing the outcomes of results
- Responsible for estimating and bidding projects
- High level of contract understanding ability to create and submit Change Orders
- Works closely with support staff including, but not limited to, Human Resource, Recruiting, Fleet, Accounting, etc.
- Ability to support a fast paced, demanding work schedule; schedule could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, etc
- Performs other position duties as assigned by leadership
Job Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- 7+ years' experience in underground and/or aerial utility construction within the telecommunications industry required
- 3-5+ years of high-level leadership experience managing multiple fiber installation construction projects within multiple markets required
- Valid driver license required; CDL license preferred but not required
- Bachelor's in Business/Construction Management degree a plus
- PMP Certification is a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
This position starts at $120,000 a year.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and driving.
- Must endure regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer and fall weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
- May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated.
- Must wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses
