Job Description
As a Level 4 Technician, you'll lead field operations, manage complex installations, ensure safety compliance, and provide valuable mentorship to other technicians.
Daily Responsibilities
- Battery and Rectifier Installations: Install batteries and rectifier battery plants across all voltage levels, delivering installations that meet industry and customer specifications.
- Ironwork and Cable Rack Construction: Conduct ironwork and cable rack installations, applying specialized knowledge for Zone 4 environments.
- Equipment Maintenance and Testing: Work with primary and secondary distribution equipment, such as Power Distribution Boards (PBDs), Battery Distribution Fuse Bays (BDFBs), and Battery Disconnect Circuit Breaker Bays (BDCBBs). Perform essential diagnostics, including load tests, voltage, and gravity readings, and troubleshoot system performance issues.
- DC Power System Upgrades: Manage DC power plant upgrades and replacements, ensuring smooth integration and minimal disruption.
- Cabling and Connections: Run power cables, crimp lugs, and lace cables and maintain proper connections for optimal functionality.
- Documentation: Prepare test reports and job documentation, author Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, and maintain detailed records for accuracy and efficiency.
- Customer Interaction: Act as a customer's primary contact, handling inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- AC Power Operations: Work with AC power systems from 120V single-phase to 480V three-phase, upholding rigorous safety and compliance standards.
- Supervisory Duties: Oversee job sites, inspect tools and equipment, identify hazards, and enforce compliance with safety protocols and company policies. Train and mentor Level 1 and 2 technicians, helping them grow their skills.
Travel required = 50% of the time (Frequent travel required, including driving, flying, overnight stays)

Technician Requirements
- Skills and Expertise: Strong mechanical, communication, and organizational skills, solid math ability, and proficiency in Office applications and customer-specific software.
- Proven Experience: Extensive experience in DC Power systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, with knowledge of industry standards and safety protocols.
- Travel and Physical Requirements: Able to travel frequently, including overnight stays (50% travel), and meet physical demands, including lifting 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 150 lbs. with assistance, climbing, bending, and working in tight spaces.
- Customer Service and Compliance: Strong commitment to customer satisfaction, a safety-first mindset, and ability to pass drug screen, background check, and DOT medical exam.
- Experience Required: 4-6 Years in DC Power (Telecom, UPS, Utilities)
