Job Description
Position Summary
The Lead Maintenance Technician will oversee preventive and predictive maintenance of all production equipment. This role also involves leading the maintenance team by providing expertise and guidance to other technicians and conducting audits of completed PMs.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 7 maintenance technicians per shift.
- Collaborate with the shift leadership team to meet performance goals.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance personnel as needed.
- Ensure accurate use of CMMS.
- Oversee completion of PMs and corrective work orders.
- Maintain production equipment for optimal performance and manage electrical spare parts inventory.
- Conduct equipment repairs to restore safe and proper functionality.
- Install, set up, modify, and relocate equipment as needed to meet production needs.
- Read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics, and basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Inform the Maintenance Manager of circuit changes and update diagrams to avoid production delays.
- Follow LOCK OUT procedures on machines being serviced.
- Complete necessary forms for work orders and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Perform preventive/predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Execute electrical and mechanical projects per Maintenance Supervisor direction and government regulations.
- Consistently follow safety practices and adhere to company policies.
- Complete special assignments and tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintain Occupational Health and Safety Act compliance and suggest improvements for safety.
- Repair and replace electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, switches, PLCs, and motor controls.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
- Proficient with industrial PCs and PLCs (e.g., Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat), contactors, relays, voltage control systems, limit switches, and proximity sensors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Traits:

- Willingness to work rotating shifts.
- Capable of managing small projects.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years in maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
- At least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Preferred: Technical certificate from a trade school.
