Lab Engineer - RF Systems | Satellite & Telecommunications Programs

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Lab Engineer to support a high-impact telecommunications and satellite communications program. This role focuses on the build, configuration, and testing of RF terminal prototypes in a controlled lab environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong lab execution, RF systems testing, and documentation experience, with the ability to independently manage test environments and support environmental and system-level testing. This is an on-site role requiring close collaboration with engineering, program, and customer teams.

What You'll Do

Build, configure, and test prototype RF terminal electronic units

Manage procurement and tracking of test equipment, components, and lab materials

Architect, configure, and document lab test environments, including network configurations for terrestrial systems

Execute environmental testing (thermal, vibration, and simulation testing)

Develop and implement test automation solutions, including scripting and documentation

Provide hands-on system-level test support in lab and customer environments

Create and maintain test reports, block diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and technical documentation

Ensure compliance with security, confidentiality, and access control requirements

Support additional program or customer-defined technical tasks as needed

Key Deliverables

RF terminal prototype units built, configured, and delivered for testing

Verified readiness of test equipment and lab materials

Complete lab configuration documentation, including diagrams and interconnects

Documented environmental and system-level test results

Test automation artifacts, scripts, and user documentation

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

3+ years of experience in lab engineering, RF systems, or test automation

Strong hands-on experience with lab equipment, environmental chambers, and test scripting

Working knowledge of network configuration and system integration

Experience in DoD, aerospace, satellite, or telecommunications labs (preferred)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in fast-paced programs
