Job Description

Inventory Planning and Procurement:
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Determine inventory needs based on event requirements, client specifications, and historical data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their inventory requirements.
  • Source and procure inventory items from vendors, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely inventory replenishment.
 
Inventory Tracking and Control:
  • Establish and maintain an accurate inventory tracking system using inventory management software or tools.
  • Monitor inventory levels, anticipating demand, and preventing shortages or excess stock.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring accurate stock records.
  • Implement efficient storage and organization methods to optimize space and facilitate easy access.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and functionality of inventory items.
 
Inventory Distribution and Logistics: 
  • Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate the distribution of inventory to event sites.
  • Develop and execute logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery and return of inventory items.
  • Track and manage rental inventory, coordinating pick-ups, returns, and associated logistics.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to manage inventory movements, including storage and retrieval.
 
Team Management and Training: 
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of inventory staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of inventory-related activities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate inventory updates, address challenges, and provide training as needed.
 
Reporting and Analysis 
  • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, usage, and costs, providing insights for decision-making.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize inventory management processes.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely inventory valuation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements.

Job Requirements

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • Proven experience as an inventory manager or similar role, preferably in the events or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Compensation: $25/hr
