Inventory Control Specialist
Job Description
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for efficient and accurate inventory management throughout the organization. This role involves overseeing inventory control processes, ensuring compliance with company guidelines, and suggesting process improvements. Your expertise in inventory management and supply chain operations will be crucial in maintaining optimal stock levels and resolving discrepancies. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 6am to 4pm.
Job Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the team works towards achieving inventory control objectives and suggest improvements to management.
- Train employees in inventory control processes according to the manual and update processes as needed.
- Monitor procurement requests and ensure accuracy in inbound inventory, maintaining records.
- Oversee inventory and supply chain management according to company guidelines.
- Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure correct stock levels.
- Investigate, identify, and reconcile cycle count discrepancies, including shortages and overages.
- Review documentation and monitor product codes to identify discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records.
- Develop and implement improvements to operational procedures to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Respond to sales inquiries and purchase orders; collect and analyze data to determine appropriate order quantities; process orders for shipment.
- Review operations schedules and production requirements to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Track accuracy rates, purchases, returns, and defective items to inform quality control decisions.
- Prepare, generate, and file financial inventory reports; review reports monthly or as needed with management.
- Nurture positive relationships with suppliers and provide customer service as needed.
- Work collaboratively with various departments and maintain a flexible attitude to support organizational goals.
- Process inventory movements.
- Maintain BOM inventory consumption.

- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.

Education and Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift knowledge and experience.
- Proven experience in inventory management.
- Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education (2 or 4-year degree in Supply Chain or Business/Operations).
- Experience in the warehousing industry.
- Supervisory experience.
- Ability to work cross-functionally.
- Flexibility in work hours/schedule.
- Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., ERP).
