Foreman/Operator - Environmental Construction
Job Description
Our client is a fully integrated environmental construction company that delivers turnkey, self‑perform solutions to complex environmental challenges involving soil, vapor, air, and water (groundwater, stormwater, and water/wastewater). Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Foreman for their projects in Washington.
Purpose of the Role
The Foreman oversees field personnel, equipment, subcontractors, and material flow to ensure successful execution of assigned projects. This role is responsible for interpreting plans, coordinating layout, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining quality standards. The Foreman also tracks productivity, monitors work progress, and communicates effectively with the Client Representative.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing weekly and daily work schedules
- Help determine appropriate crew size based on project scope and timelines
- Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and specialized tools
- Maintain optimal crew size for maximum efficiency
- Develop alternative work plans when delays occur and identify improved installation methods
- Interface with suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and inspectors
- Support field recordkeeping, including payroll, material receipts, change orders, and progress reports
- Maintain full knowledge of project specifications and drawings
- Monitor and report on project schedule and budget performance
- Enforce site‑specific safety programs and lead daily safety huddles
- Implement Quality Assurance requirements and submit required documentation
- Document and enforce company policies regarding performance issues
- Identify out‑of‑scope work and changed conditions
- Provide daily updates to project managers and superintendents regarding job activities and change orders
- Assist with coordination and communication with the Client Representative
- Perform all other tasks necessary to support overall project success
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Qualified journeyman with a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental construction or demolition
- Experience in environmental excavation, grading, demolition, asbestos abatement, and/or system installations
- Strong health and safety knowledge; additional training or certifications are a plus
- Must meet all company general employment qualifications
- 40‑hour HAZWOPER, OSHA 30, and 1O HR OSHA preferred (additional training may be required)
- Ability to meet expectations of the Client Representative
Compensation
Pay Range: $45-$50 per hour, depending on experience
