Job Description
Fiber Optic Splicer Technicians
Responsible for the installation, fusion splicing, and testing for our Dark Fiber and other service provider clients.
Key Roles:
- Time & Production Rates
- Field As-Builts
- Cable Installation & Labeling
- Termination, Fiber Splicing & Testing
- Daily Field Reports
Essential Job Functions:
- Track and record accurate job production quantities and hours by cost code
- Execute plan to complete work in most efficient and cost-effective method
- Provide accurate redline information for as-builts
- Complete field as-builts daily
- Perform, lead, manage and oversee the cable installation & labeling
- Lead, oversee, and train Installers
- Perform, lead, manage and oversee termination of cables, splicing fiber, and testing per client standards
Schedule:
- Sunday- Thursday
- 9pm-5am
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience
- Familiar with fiber optic cable from 432CT down
- Experienced in using single and mass fiber optic fusion splice machines
- Experienced in testing fiber optic strands OTDR and Power Meter
- Experienced in troubleshooting fiber optic strands
- Experience in splicing and testing coax cable(s) size .500 and up a plus
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening with a clean driving record
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Flexible schedule
- Able to lift more than 70 lbs.
- Professional, accountable, reliable, and willing to go above and beyond to provide a quality product for our customers
$25-$30/hr. DOE
