The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing electrical system layouts and electrical panel designs with great quality, accuracy, and timeliness. This candidate will create electrical schematics and will participate in the debugging, testing, and commissioning of custom machinery that includes motion systems, heaters, pumps, and automated hoists.  
This role collaborates with Mechanical Engineers and representatives from Project Management, Sales, and Purchasing to develop equipment to each client's unique order and specification.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support sales proposals with conceptual electrical system configurations and projected engineering hours
Create electrical schematics and panel layout diagrams in AutoCAD Electrical for in-house panel fabrication
Select and specify electrical components best suited to each application
Generate Bills of Materials and support sourcing of electrical componentry
Debug electrical issues, optimize system functionality, and participate in factory acceptance testing
Travel to customer sites and commission equipment
Conduct investigations for service calls, troubleshoot equipment, and document root cause analyses and resolutions
Train customers and fellow team members in the fine tuning of equipment

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or institution
Seven years minimum experience and a proven track record of creating and improving electrical systems for industrial machinery and automation
Knowledge in the application of low, medium, and high voltage industrial electrical systems with remote IO and various sensors
Thorough experience designing electrical control panels for turnkey industrial equipment
Ability to produce accurate bills of materials aligned with schematics
Skill in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and PLC programs for automation
Expert knowledge in the application of NEC codes & UL-508 standards
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs
Proficiency in CAD for electrical schematics, panel layouts, and BOM creation
Knowledge of Microsoft Word to develop operation and maintenance manuals
Skill with calculations in Microsoft Excel
Effective writing, speaking and presentation skills
Highly organized approach to work and thorough documentation
 
Preferred Experience:
Hydraulic and pneumatic circuit design
Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams creation
Applications with multiple PLCs and integration of mixed PLCs on same line
Allen Bradley training
