Driver
Job Description
Purpose and Scope: The Driver is responsible for the safe and proper loading, delivery and unloading of listed goods, with specific precautions and requirements for handling hazardous materials.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plans out and follows the most efficient routes for delivery of goods.
- Lays out (or loads) items for delivery in accordance with the delivery route.
- Obtains signatures and payments, or arranges for recipients to make payments.
- Performs routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, such as monitoring and replenishing fluids.
- Leaves verbal messages via telephone.
- Maintains positive customer relations.
- Performs deliveries to and pick ups from area customers.
- Installs new or replacement products or equipment, and/or removes hazardous batteries, chargers, or other equipment from customer locations.
- Completes paperwork fully and completely, as required.
- Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, which are not limited to, warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
- Class A Driver's License
- All other duties as required.
Education/ Training:
- High School graduate or equivalent, required. Associate's degree in a technical area, or equivalent combination of work experience and education, preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and the internet.
- Able to operate communications equipment in a mobile environment (cellphone, laptop, etc.).
- Working knowledge of standard shop tools.
- OSHA certification a plus.
- Possess or obtain Commercial Driver's License with endorsement for hazardous materials.
- Forklift certified, have or will train.
- Reach truck operation, experienced or will train.
- Safety training for Spill Containment and Lead Level.
- Clean and current Driver's license (MVR check) in CA
Pay: $24 - $28/hr
