Director of Manufacturing Engineering

Job Description
This role is responsible for leading the Manufacturing, Mechanical & Tool Engineering as well as Document Control departments with a focus on overseeing all manufacturing engineering functions and ensuring there is cross functional alignment to provide engineering support and resolve internal and external customer issues.
Job Duties:
- Ensure the processes, organizational capability and culture combine to consistently meet internal and external customer needs.
- Create and monitor objectives, goals, strategies and metrics for the manufacturing engineering teams.
- Lead development and adoption of performance measures to establish and achieve optimal process cycle times.
- Instill a high level of ownership and sustained accountability in meeting or exceeding effectiveness expectations of departmental processes.
- Evaluate and guide improvement in manufacturing methods for maximum efficiency.
- Analyze, staff and allocate resources accordingly to support company top level goals.
- Communicate clearly & effectively on performance expectations and results, along with any mitigating actions.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones with team members to mentor, develop and grow their capabilities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering and 5+ years experience managing teams in multiple departments with a proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong organization, leadership and influencing skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to build collaborative cross functional relationships with internal, customers and across the organization
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to implement innovative solutions to complex problems through technology, automation, partnerships and leveraging of resources
- Ability to read engineering drawings with a strong understanding of GD&T
- Strong background using ERP systems to create Material Masters, BOMs, Routings and manage TOP Configuration (SAP experience a plus)
- Knowledge of CAD design software (CATIA, SolidWorks)
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Good computer skills required (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CAD, etc.)
- LEAN experience and Belt certification a plus
