Diagnostic Diesel Technician
Santa Fe Springs, CA & Long Beach, CA | Full-Time | $25-$35/hr DOE


Are you the go-to problem solver when engines act up? We're looking for a Diagnostic Diesel Technician with advanced troubleshooting skills to join our fleet & maintenance team. If you know your way around Cummins and Paccar engine platforms and thrive on using diagnostic software to solve complex issues, this role is for you.


According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for diesel technicians is projected to stay strong with over 25,000 new openings every year across the country. Those with advanced diagnostic expertise are among the most sought-after - making this a rare chance to stand out in a high-demand specialty.


What You'll Do:

  • Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel engines using OEM platforms (Cummins Insite, Paccar DAVIE4, etc.)

  • Conduct electrical, emissions, and sensor diagnostics to resolve complex issues

  • Interpret fault codes, update ECU software, and calibrate sensors

  • Troubleshoot aftertreatment systems, DEF issues, and DPF regens

  • Document repair activities accurately in fleet maintenance software

  • Train and support junior mechanics on diagnostic tools and techniques

  • Recommend strategies to reduce downtime and improve fleet efficiency

Job Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience with advanced troubleshooting

  • Hands-on experience with Cummins and Paccar engine diagnostics

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; diesel tech certification preferred

  • Proficiency with laptops, diagnostic tools, and OEM software

  • Valid driver's license; ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently

Schedule: Full-time, day shift

Compensation: $25-$35/hr (DOE)
