Purpose and Scope:
The Construction Coordinator will play a vital role in conducting Construction Ride Outs (CRO) to document existing utilities for future designs and perform pre-construction walkouts to identify potential construction challenges. The majority of construction will involve micro trench methods.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Construction Ride Outs (CRO) to document existing utilities for future designs.
- Perform pre-construction walkouts to identify potential construction issues.
- Read and interpret construction drawings with proficiency.
- Understand running line offsets and adapt them based on field conditions.
- Determine when construction methods need to be changed to directional bore or open-cut trench based on field assessments.
- Utilize experience in basic design and civil telecommunication construction to enhance project efficiency.
- Provide high-level problem-solving expertise to address and resolve any design issues encountered during pre-construction phases.
- Stay ahead of the construction schedule by 3-4 weeks to confirm proposed designs' feasibility for construction.
- Communicate minor changes with city inspectors for approval and collaborate with the design firm for significant redesigns.
Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with city inspectors and design firms.
Job Requirements
Experience:
- Experience in conducting Construction Ride Outs (CRO) and pre-construction walkouts.
- Understanding of running line offsets and their adjustment based on field conditions.
- Familiarity with micro trench construction method is a plus.
- Ability to identify and recommend changes to construction methods (e.g., directional bore or open-cut trench) based on field assessments.
- Basic design and civil telecommunication construction experience.
- High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to provide effective solutions for any design issues encountered.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving construction-related challenges.
Compensation: $30.00 - $38.00/hr
