Position Overview: We are seeking a Commissioning Technician to build and lead our commissioning team responsible for finalizing Solar PV, EV charging, and ESS installations. In this critical role, you'll ensure all systems meet operational excellence standards, facilitate smooth customer handoffs, and position the team to scale effectively.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead a commissioning team focused on Solar PV, ESS, and EV projects.
- Conduct system commissioning, troubleshooting, punch list creation, and project close-outs.
- Verify and validate monitoring and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) functionality (AlsoEnergy and related platforms).
- Set up and configure online monitoring portals, including CPS, SolarEdge, AlsoEnergy, and other relevant systems.
- Manage the setup and verification of communication systems including cellular, ethernet, and fiber optic networks.
- Coordinate closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure field installations match engineered plans.
- Prepare detailed commissioning reports and oversee necessary system testing.
- Conduct customer training sessions and clearly communicate system operations and maintenance requirements.
- Regularly interface with internal stakeholders, including the full construction team and office staff, to ensure smooth project turnover.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial solar commissioning
- At least 2 years experience specifically commissioning energy storage systems (ESS)
- Demonstrated experience using AlsoEnergy and other DAS platforms
- Proven ability to manage network and communication infrastructure setups
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- NABCEP Certification
- OSHA Certification

- Effective communication and conflict resolution capabilities
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 80% of job time spent in the field, with occasional nationwide travel.
Pay: $27 - $35/hr
