Civil Structural Engineer (CA PE Licensed)
Job Description
Job Summary: The company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil Structural Engineer with a valid California PE license. The ideal candidate will lead the design and analysis of light gauge steel framing systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings, working closely with architects, developers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC), AISI, and ASCE standards.
* Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals and permitting.
* Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California.
* Perform structural modeling using tools such as RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit, Telka Structures , and/or AutoCAD.
* Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
* Stay current on industry codes, materials, and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems.
* Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support.
* Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing quality control and technical guidance.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Active California PE License (required). Experience stamping structural drawings
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Proficiency in relevant structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, AutoCAD).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design, lateral systems, and seismic considerations.
- Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized/prefabricated systems.
- Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements (if applicable).
- PE License in other states
- SE License (Structural Engineer - CA) is a plus but not required.
