Building Engineer
Job Description
A leading advanced manufacturing and aerospace technology organization in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Building Engineer to support facility operations at a high-tech production site.
This role focuses on maintaining the reliability and performance of critical building systems that support precision manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial facility maintenance, utilities, and building infrastructure in a manufacturing or technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and mechanical systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility infrastructure and equipment
- Monitor facility systems and troubleshoot issues impacting production or operations
- Coordinate service and repairs with vendors, contractors, and internal teams
- Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and system documentation
- Support equipment installation, facility upgrades, and infrastructure improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Assist with emergency response and facility issue resolution
- Identify opportunities to improve facility efficiency and reliability
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in building engineering, facilities maintenance, or plant engineering
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or high-tech facilities
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and building automation systems
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace, defense, additive manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing facilities
- Trade certification or technical training in HVAC, electrical, or facilities maintenance
- Experience supporting mission-critical or high-precision production environments
Annual Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 DOE
