Job Description
- Use knowledge of product features and control logic to coordinate with outside development partners. Communicate with partners to understand their unique feature requirements. Merge this information into prioritized feature description requests.
- Develop methods to test EV systems and products. This may include inverters, inverter control logic boards, motors, battery management systems, on board chargers, DCDC converters, CCS DC fast charging systems, battery cells, battery modules, battery packs and various human interface products such as displays, switches and keypads.
- Document test methods and procedures. Communicate and provide direction to test technicians.
- Written communication including progress reports, Gantt charts, test reports and executive summary reports.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related discipline or equivalent work experience (minimum of 3 years)
- Above average understanding of motor control and power electronics
- Above average understanding of vehicle CAN networking
- Prior experience as a member of multi-discipline teams including software, hardware electronics and mechanical
- Experience in automotive ECU development and testing, including electronic fuel injection
- Strong organizational, time management and communication skills
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to design and assemble automotive quality wiring harnesses, including CAN networking
- EV systems integration experience
- Experience with vehicle chassis dynamometers
- Ability to understand PCB design schematics
- Hands on experience converting an ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle to EV propulsion
- MATLAB / Simulink experience
- 2D and 3D CAD experience using Solidworks or equivalent tools
