The Design Process Management (DPM) Coordinator is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving DPM tools, workflows, and drawing registration processes across both CATIA V5 and V6 platforms. This role supports accurate design documentation, troubleshooting of CAD system issues, controlled distribution of drawings, and administrative support across Project Management Division initiatives.
Because the DPM group supports every HRC project, team members must be flexible, collaborative, and capable of covering a wide range of tasks. Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
DPM Infrastructure Development & Management
- Maintain existing MS Power Platform applications, workflows, and reports.
- Develop new methods and tools as needed to support evolving project requirements.
CAD System Management
- CATIA V6: Troubleshoot issues; improve system efficiency; increase drawing quality and consistency.
- CATIA V5: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting during the transition to V6.
- Manage Bill of Materials (BoM) creation and synchronization with Business Central.
Drawing Release & Documentation Control
- V6 Releases: Utilize Route Management and Change Execution applications.
- V5 Releases: Process documentation using ECNs, Office tools, PDF, BC, and Honda systems (RE-X, AHEAD, NEWS).
- Process Tech Bulletins, Tech Notices, HRC Design Standards, and Specifications via ECN, Word, PDF, and SharePoint.
Honda Engineering Standards (HES)
- Understand and apply HES requirements.
- Educate others on part numbering, naming conventions, and related standards.
Design Process Improvement
- Evaluate current processes and continuously implement improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Job Requirements
Experience Required
- 3-5 years experience in document control, design registration, and/or project management.
- Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Administrative support experience.
- Experience in production control, design, parts administration, configuration management, or part number control is highly desirable.
- Exposure to CAD systems with a basic functional understanding required; CATIA experience strongly preferred.
- Understanding of development and production flow, particularly configuration control.
- Knowledge of MRP systems desirable but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; MS Project preferred.
- Strong organization, communication, planning, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and interact effectively with various personality types.
- High attention to detail.
