Location: Santa Clarita, CA
Compensation: $35-$48/hr
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in electromechanical system design, preferably within the automotive industry. CAD experience is required, though no specific software package is mandated. This role involves a broad range of design responsibilities, including vehicle harness design, electromechanical system development, energy storage systems, electric motor components, and related technologies. The position also supports component design and drawing creation for 3D and 2D automotive components, test cell systems, and electrification projects.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of experience with 2D and 3D modeling in the automotive industry
- Experience with:
- Preliminary design preparation (information gathering prior to design)
- Concept design activities
- Evaluation and analysis of design concepts
- Component and assembly modeling (detailed design)
- Prototype or production manufacturing coordination
- Quality coordination and documentation
- Engineering drawing preparation and release
- Scheduling and reporting
Required Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and standard codes
- Proficiency with personal computers and MS Office software
- Understanding of mechanical and cost‑calculation processes
- Knowledge of raw material codes and specifications
- Strong project management capabilities
- Excellent data analysis and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to accurately apply engineering principles to design work
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
